The STRONG Study

The STRONG Study 

STRONG is a completely remote study aiming to assess a program that teaches self-advocacy skills. 

The goal of the study is to evaluate the benefits of a tablet-based educational program compared to a paper guide on women’s health outcomes. 

If assigned to the paper guide at the beginning, participants can still receive access to the tablet-based program in 6 months at the end of the study. 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 18 years of age or older 
  • Female 
  • Diagnosed any advanced solid organ cancer in past 6 months

Features of STRONG: 

  • No extra visits 
  • No blood draws 
  • No placebo
  • Compensation provided
  • Participants will be assigned to use the tablet-based program or paper guide 
  • Questionnaires will be completed by the participants at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months
  • If assigned to the tablet-based program, there will also be 2 phone interviews completed at 3 months and 6 months
